Tarifa - Spain

Spanish property in the area of Tarifa  on the Costa de la Luz is still very reasonably priced, as this part of Spain has not yet seen the massive development that has taken place in other areas of the Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca.

Ten kilometres of white sandy beaches, unspoilt countryside and some of the best windsurfing conditions in Europe have established Tarifa as a true surfers paradise. Just 11 km across the Straits of Gibraltar at its narrowest point, this southern-most tip of Europe where the Mediteranean meets the Atlantic Ocean, enjoys spectacular views of the Rif mountains of Africa across the water.  

Tarifa's wild coastline attracts surfers and nature-lovers alike. Just as famous for its birdwatching as its surfing, there are endless opportunities to explore the rolling countryside. Horse-riding, hang-gliding, kite-surfing, rock-climbing and diving to name but a few.

Tarifa has a some excellent hotels, mainly located to the north of the town, and if you just want to relax, there's plenty of choice. Many a good night can be spent in Tarifa, with nightclubs, restaurants, cafes, bars and the odd disco.

During high season in summer, temperatures are always quite comfortable, and you never get the intense heat that central Spain suffers. However, don't forget warm clothes for summer nights, the high level of humidity can make it pretty chilly, even though temperatures are not low. Costa de la Luz Airports

The area is serviced by three airports, one at Jerez, a small airport but has everything you need. It lies approximately 5km from the city of Jerez, Sevilla and Malaga.

Within easy reach are the cultural towns of Lepe, Isla Cristina and the beautiful Ayamonte. These locations however, are in contrast to the more lively cities of the historical, Cadiz and the more picturesque Sevilla.
