La Mata has its own small number of facilities, with its own market and a 11km sandy beach that in the high peak of the summer is full of the local Spanish, newcomers and those on holiday

One benefits from being so near to the town of Torrevieja. From La Mata there is a short journey to Ciudad Quesada, a beautiful place with an 18-hole golf course.

La Mata is ideally located for fishing, swimming, golf and walking on the beach, and water sports are available on the beach during the summer months.

There are many fine Spanish restaurants in the local village and other European tastes are also catered for by the Chinese, Italian, Basque and fast food restaurants.

It takes approximately 30 minutes to get to the airport of Alicante by the coastal road the N332.
