The picturesque rural town of Mijas on the Costa del Sol is situated on the western coast just 30km from Malaga. It is a typical example of a mountain town in Andalusia, and has wonderful views over the Costa del Sol.
Mijas is perched high on the hillside near Fuengirola, and to reach it you must make your way up a narrow winding road. Although popular with tourists, it still has managed to keep it’s charm.
Colourful shops, showing their wares such as leatherwork, pottery, jewellery and ceramics, line the many winding streets
Many of its narrow streets here are restricted to pedestrians and donkeys, which is a great fun mode of transport and takes the weight of the feet for a short while. Then there are plenty of small cafes and restaurants for you to chill out and pass the time of day.
To be able to play golf all year round is the dream of all golfers. Here in Mijas you can, with first class Golf Clubs, making the municipality of Mijas one of the main golfing areas in Southern Europe.
